Tools run in your browser

The vast majority of DevCrate tools — formatters, validators, converters, encoders, generators, diff and text utilities — process your input entirely on your own device. When you format, validate, convert or compare content, that content is not uploaded to our servers.

We do not send your tool input to analytics, logging, external AI services or third-party APIs. By default, we do not store your tool input in your browser's local storage either.

Sharing is opt-in

Content only leaves your device when you explicitly choose “Create Shareable Link”. At that point your selected content is uploaded and stored temporarily in cloud infrastructure so your link can be opened by others.

We do not claim that shared content is never stored — it is, for as long as the link is active.

Expiration and deletion

Every shareable link has an expiration time that you select (from 1 hour up to 30 days). After a link expires:

  • access is rejected immediately;
  • metadata is removed from our store;
  • the stored content is deleted;
  • expired links cannot be restored.

Visibility and indexing

Shares default to unlisted. Private and password-protected content is never indexed by search engines. Public content may be indexed only if you explicitly enable it.

Security

Share IDs are cryptographically random. Password-protected shares store only a password hash, never the plaintext password, and the protected content is not returned before verification succeeds.
